NARRATIVE PARAGRAPH

     we often find narrative paragraph because we can find narrative paragraph in the book, or probably your friend telling you about that happened in the past and you want to write it. So how to make a good narrative paragraph?  well before it, I will tell you about what is narrative? Narrative paragraph is a text focusing some spesific participants that have several structural fatures making different from other genres, narrative has social function that is tell stories either in present which is called presnt narrative, past events which called past narrative and future which is called future narrative to entertain the readers ( Smalley and Ruetten, 1984 ) it is usually reality or fictive Narrative is used often in: fables, miths, legend, novel, period drama, etc.

There are so many kinds example of narrative paragraph

Legend         : malin kundang, lake toba, tangkuban perahu mountain etc

Fabel           : crocodile and the mouse dear, the frog the mouse and the hawk etc.

Fictive         novel : spiderman, harry potter etc.

1.       Orientation

Introducing the participant of the story like who or what participant in the story and also informing the time and the place like where and when the story happened.

2.       Complication

Tells the rising crises which the participants have to do with or among participants relationship in a procces in social function.

3.       Resolution

Showing the way of participant to solve the crises better or worse.

4.       Re-orientation

This is a summarizes the pont of the story and moral message we may get.

The language features of Narrative are:

•      Using material process (action verb): arrived, ate, went, etc.

• Using some behavioral and verbal processes (saying verb): asked, said, told, etc

•       Using temporal conjunction: then, one day, when, a long, etc.  
•           Using nouns: tree, road, mouse, etc

• Using pronouns: they, their, its, it, etc.

• Using simple past tense.

Well guys it’s all about narrative paragraph that I have known Hopefully, it can be your references and increase your knowledge  if you want to make a good narrative paragraph.
